Halsted Harp review - Chicago Tribune Metromix "Quite Irish Indeed"

February 23, 2010

Halsted Harp

The bar: With Six Nations rugby on the telly, Irish newspapers on the bar top and imported potato chips alongside your sandwich, it's the little things that help you imagine you might be in Ireland rather than Lincoln Park. It helps that the owners' Irish friends hang out here too.

Ownership cred: Irish-born Garrett Diamond (from Drogheda) and Conor Kelly (from Skerries) met while working at Four Farthings; a minority owner still lives in Ireland.

Sustenance: Traditional Irish breakfast, fish and chips and shepherd's pie

St. Pat's preview: Paying homage to their homeland with traditional Irish music on March 12 and 17, Irish dancers on March 17 and not a drop of green beer in sight

Irish-ness: Quite Irish, indeed
